기초영어회화(안 좋은 일 여러가지가 겹쳤을 때)

 

 

 

 

 

거기 한국은 상황이 어때요?

  - How are things over there in Korea?

 

 

 

지난 몇 주 좀 힘들었어요.

  - It's been a rough couple of weeks.

 

 

 

물론 코로나 하나만으로도 충분히 우울했지만

  - Of course, the pandemic alone has been enough to bring us all down.(to depress us, to make us depressed)

 

 

* ~alone : ~ 하나만으로도

 

* bring someone down : 다운되다, 우울하다. 

 

 

 

그걸로도 모자라서 최근에 날씨가 엄청 안좋았어.

  - But as if that wasn't bad enough, we've had some really bad weather lately.

 

 

* as if that wasn't bad enough : 그걸로도 모자라서, 설상가상으로

 

* have some really bad weahter : '날씨가 좋지 않다'를 '좋지 않은 날씨를 가지다' 라는 식으로 말할 때도 있음

 

 

 

게다가 최근에 아주 심각한 아동학대 사건까지지 있었는데 그것 때문에 정신적 고통이 컸어.

  - And on top of that, there recently was a very serious child abuse incident that caused a lot of emotional distress.
